Nareeta Davis

Nareeta Davis is an alumnus of CQUniversity, having completed a Bachelor of Laws at the CQUniversity Cairns campus. Nareeta most recently was awarded the Queensland Law Society First Nations Solicitor of the Year 2021 award.

Over the past 25 years, Nareeta has been employed in Advisory Services, particularly in the speciality of Business Restructuring and Insolvency. Nareeta presently divides her time between two careers. Nareeta is employed by BDO (NTH QLD) as a Senior Accountant within the Business Restructuring service line and is employed by Holding Redlich as a Solicitor undertaking Pro-Bono cases.  Nareeta was admitted into the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2018 as an Australian Lawyer and was the recipient of the 2018 Qld Law Society First Nations Legal Student of the Year and additionally awarded the Associate Vice Chancellor Medal at CQUniversity.

Nareeta identifies as a descendant of the Purga Mission, Ipswich Queensland with cultural connections to the Kullili Thargomindah people, and maternal non-indigenous Australian heritage. Nareeta is an indigenous name that means ‘Waterlilly’, named by the late Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Poet and Activist; a descendant of the Noonuccal people of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
